The Human Resources Department exists to provide competent, courteous, and professional assistance to all Mental Health Center staff; to administer their benefits and changes in their employment status; to assist supervisors with employment changes and hiring within their programs; to maintain accurate and confidential records; and to help ensure compliance with Mental Health Center policies and employment and benefit laws. We interact with the larger community in the area of recruitment and hiring, with insurance carriers and consultants, and with consumers from the Center's programs. In all our interactions, we strive to recognize and support the rich diversity of staff, consumers, and community by being sensitive and culturally aware. We also strive to balance competence in the technical aspects of our work with sensitivity to the individual needs and situations of staff, keeping the bigger picture in mind as we administer the details. Values & Goals We are committed to establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with all Mental Health Center staff, supervisors, and directors. Each person is a vital part of the Center, and each person will be treated with equal respect. We will be accessible. To the extent possible, Human Resources staff will be available from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on all days the Center is open. We will respond to questions, requests and concerns in a timely manner. We will maintain the confidentiality of all personal information that may be shared with us in the course of our work. We will maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of personnel records. In our day-to-day activities, and in the development of policy and procedures, we will uphold the Center's vision and values for cultural competence. We will aim to do business with companies and insurance carriers whose policies support the values of the Center. When we are aware of discrimination or conflicting values, we will address the problem or explore new companies consistent with our values. We will also seek opportunities to educate by sharing our mission and values with other companies. Within our department, we will treat each other with kindness and respect. We will work to communicate openly and to create a supportive working environment. We will employ and retain staff who are professionally and culturally competent, and assist other programs in their efforts to do the same. We will use our time and resources in a manner that is both effective and efficient. |
