Book Report AFTER SUICIDE: Young People Speak Up Author: Susan Kuklin, Putnam’s Sons, 1994–Reviewed by: Jeanne Adams, SOS Support Group Facilitator, July 1996 This book presents a format that is readable for both teens and adults and introduces us to several young people who have lost a loved one to suicide. Through their words and photos, these young people share a variety of relationship losses and give us an honest look at their feelings and reactions. A section of the book is also devoted to the experiences of young people who have attempted suicide and survived. The description of their struggles is powerful and can be helpful as we try to understand how one can arrive at a decision to die. Throughout the book, the reader is offered suggestions on how to cope, ways to get help, and how to find resources.
