Mission
The mission of Integrated Services is to assist individuals and families in Dane County affected by mental health concerns, alcohol and other drug issues, trauma, serious stress, and/or child welfare concerns achieve recovery and healing by providing high quality, mental health, substance abuse, and advocacy services that respect cultural differences and foster hope, strength, and self determination.

Service Description
Integrated Services provides a wide range of clinically and culturally competent assessments, intervention/treatment, and referral services for adults, children (0-17) and families who are Dane County residents and who are experiencing:

  • Mental Health Concerns
  • Alcohol and Others Drug Issues
  • Trauma
  • Serious Stress
  • Child Welfare Concerns

Treatment services are individualized, and the program is committed to providing treatment and services that are relevant to the needs and experiences of each participant or family. Consumers and their families will be at the center of the development, delivery, implementation, and evaluation of their treatment.

Integrated Services provides the following services to adults, children, and families:

  • thorough assessment/identification of individual and/or family strengths and needs
  • joint development of an individualized treatment plan with goals and objectives of treatment.
  • treatment plan is designed to enhance the natural strengths/resources of the client/family in support of solutions to presenting problems.

The client and counselor will jointly determine specific treatment and counseling during the assessment and treatment planning process.

Therapy and counseling services are available in a variety of formats including:

  • individual
  • group
  • couples/dyad
  • family therapy

The site of service is determined by the assessment and the needs of the participant/family. Most services are provided in the office, but some situations may benefit from in-school, in-home, or in other community locations.

Limited case management services designed to assist clients with support necessary to remain engaged in counseling/therapy and to sustain their recovery is also available. Referrals for medication evaluation and psychiatric services can be made to the Mental Health Center’s Core Services area when there is evidence of a mental health problem and need for these services.

Additional initiatives include:
Family Preservation Program [brochure]
Provides highly intensive, individualized, in-home safety and treatment services to families referred by the DCDHS where there are significant safety concerns due to child abuse and neglect, and when at least one child (age 0-12) in the family is at imminent risk of out-of-home placement. The program's focus is on family safety and unity with a key concept being the ability to provide individualized services to each family based on immediate need. The program can serve up to eight families at one time and is eight weeks in duration.

Adolescent Trauma Treatment Services
are committed to providing effective treatment and services to adolescents (11-17) who have experienced trauma as the result of child abuse or neglect, family/community violence, or disaster. Services include Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); Trauma Affect Regulation: Guide for Education and Therapy-Adolescents (TARGET-A) groups; and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention in the Schools (CBITS) groups.

UJIMA Program
Services are dedicated to promoting the self identity and quality of life of African American families who are affected by alcohol and other drug abuse, trauma, and other mental health related issues. This culturally specific, outpatient substance abuse program targets families with school age children, and provides individual, group, and family therapy to address both substance abuse and mental health issues. The program is twelve to fifteen months in duration.

Southeast Asian Teen Villages [brochure]
brings together SE Asian girls ages 12-18, with a facilitator and SE Asian mentors to support each other as they deal with issues related to being a part of two cultures. The project provides support, education, and encouragement so teens can succeed in their families, schools and communities without turning to drug abuse, truancy, delinquency, gang involvement, running away, or pregnancy. The Villages are based on a psycho-spiritual approach which combines counseling and mentoring with the rich spirituality of these cultures.
